If the Heart line or any other branch of it , rises over the Mount, and is feathered,islanded or blurred,or if the Mount itself is marked by any of these signs on independent lines,it is a warning that the lungs are affected by consumption,or by some extreme delicacy. Waist-to-Hip Ratio : A Better Barometer Seeing For Overall Health

Waist–hip ratio or waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) is the ratio of the circumference of the waist to that of the hips. This is calculated as waist measurement divided by hip measurement (W ÷ H). For example, a person with a 25″ (64 cm) waist and 38″ (97 cm) hips has a waist–hip ratio of about 0.66.

The WHR has been used as an indicator or measure of health, and the risk of developing serious health conditions. WHR correlates with fertility (with different optimal values for males and females). Some researchers have found that the waist–hip ratio is a significant measure of female attractiveness.

According to the World Health Organisation’s data gathering protocol the waist circumference should be measured at the midpoint between the lower margin of the last palpable rib and the top of the iliac crest, using a stretch‐resistant tape that provides a constant 100 g tension. Hip circumference should be measured around the widest portion of the buttocks, with the tape parallel to the floor. Other organizations use slightly different standards. The United States National Institutes of Health and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey used results obtained by measuring at the top of the iliac crest. Waist measurements are usually obtained by laypersons by measuring around the waist at the navel, but research has shown that these measurements may underestimate the true waist circumference.

 

For both measurements, the individual should stand with feet close together, arms at the side and body weight evenly distributed, and should wear little clothing. The subject should be relaxed, and the measurements should be taken at the end of a normal respiration. Each measurement should be repeated twice; if the measurements are within 1 cm of one another, the average should be calculated. If the difference between the two measurements exceeds 1 cm, the two measurements should be repeated.

Practically, however, the waist is more conveniently measured simply at the smallest circumference of the natural waist, usually just above the belly button, and the hip circumference may likewise be measured at its widest part of the buttocks or hip. Also, in case the waist is convex rather than concave, such as is the case in pregnancy, different body types, and obesity, the waist may be measured at a horizontal level 1 inch above the navel.

Research shows that people with “apple-shaped” bodies (with more weight around the waist) face more health risks than those with “pear-shaped” bodies who carry more weight around the hips.

 

WHR is used as a measurement of obesity, which in turn is a possible indicator of other more serious health conditions. The WHO states that abdominal obesity is defined as a waist–hip ratio above 0.90 for males and above 0.85 for females, or a body mass index (BMI) above 30.0.[5] The National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) states that women with waist–hip ratios of more than 0.8, and men with more than 1.0, are at increased health risk because of their fat distribution.

WHR has been found to be a more efficient predictor of mortality in older people (>75 years of age) than waist circumference or BMI. If obesity is redefined using WHR instead of BMI, the proportion of people categorized as at risk of heart attack worldwide increases threefold.The body fat percentage is considered to be an even more accurate measure of relative weight. Of these three measurements, only the waist–hip ratio takes account of the differences in body structure. Hence, it is possible for two women to have vastly different body mass indices but the same waist–hip ratio, or to have the same body mass index but vastly different waist–hip ratios.

 

WHR has been shown to be a better predictor of cardiovascular disease than waist circumference and body-mass index. However, other studies have found waist circumference, not WHR, to be a good indicator of cardiovascular risk factors, body fat distribution, and hypertension in type 2 diabetes.

THE LINE OF SATURN

The line of Saturn is the fourth Main Line which receives the Current,and is frequently called the ” Line Of Fate”. It rises at the base of the hand and runs upwards toward the fingers. The period of childhood is the extreme lower part of the line,and old age is recorded by it on the Mount Of Saturn. It indicates- brains,health,energy,ambition and kindred allies,and not to blind chance,luck or fate. Combined with a good line of Saturn, there may be health,brains,determination,ambition and similar qualities , and in that case the presence of these qualities,and in that case the presence of these qualities accounts for the good line of Saturn,which consequently indicates that the subject will get through the world comfortably and successfully. On every line of Saturn,we note periods when everything is propitious for the subject. When the line is prominent,the subject is well and is in possession of his full powers. HOW ARE YOU ?

The subject “ How are you ?” looks a small thing . But after getting up in the morning till we sleep, we ensure this question 10 to 60 times a day. So it is not a small thing at all. It is great significant part of our daily conversations.

The answer to the question How are you ? is usually no more than few words. And yet, that short response tells a lot about you and your attitude.

I personally feel that the response to Kow are you ? can be classified in three categories – (1) Negative (2) Mediocre and (3) Positive. Let us examine these three categories :

  • Negative responses : The negative responses to How are you ? can be described as such as :

(i)“ I am tired ; (ii) “Terrible “; (iii) “ It’s not my day “. ; (iv) “ Thank God it’s a Friday”; (v) “Don’t ask”.

I ask simple question ie (i) to (iii) . Are you not generating negative energy and and it clearly answers your negative attitude . I really pity those who take  the “ Thank God it’s a Friday” approach to life. For these people Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are bad days every week. Friday is bearable only because they will have two days off ! Is this way to live your life ? Such negative thoughts release neurochemicals like cortisol and can poison your attitude and this would lead to unhealthy life.

  • Mediocre responses : Mediocre group is step up from the negative bunch. Some of the things they say – (a) “ Not too bad “. (b)” Could be worse “; (c) “Same old “; (d)” I am OK “; (E) “Fine “.

When you hear saying , Not too bad, could be worse. We also diminish our energy. People who use mediocre words eg I am OK, fine etc will develop a mediocre attitude and they get mediocre results.

  • Positive responses : Certainly positive people have positive approach. They say- (a)” Excellent “; (b) “ Great”; (c)” Terrific “; (d)” Fantastic “; (e) “ Wonderful “.

Those who use positive words like these have positive energy in them and you feel privileged by being around them. Positive thoughts release “ Neurochemicals “ ie Serotonin….so you find yourself seeing more possibilities than problems…more hope than doom….and more friends than isolation. Be honest. How did you feel as you read the Positive list ? But I am elevated  and excited to review this list. For instance just consider what happens when you respond that you are excellent and wonderful. As you say these words , your physiology begins to correspond with your optimistic language. Your posture also moves upright. Other people are attracted to your energy , your business and personal relationship improves.

As for me, when someone asks me , How are you ? I usually respond with a big positive attitude to other person and the more I say it , the more I feel excellent.

About 25 years back, that some one asked me How are you ? I would say something like OK with little energy. You know what I was programming myself to have OK relationship with people and to have OK attitude….and OK life.

But then , thank God, my spiritual consciousness moved to higher self and with inner awakening, I learned that I didn’t have to settle for an “OK “ life ! So I picked up my response and began to say excellent or wonderful.

The power in a positive group

There is an incredible power in the words we use, the things we use and the activities what we do. That’s why I advise you to use words that lift your attitude and the attitude of those with whom you converse.

Thought  is life what you think that you are. Your thoughts constitute your world. One kind word can warm three winter months (Japanese proverb). Every thought or emotion produces a strong vibration in every cell of the body and leaves a strong impression there. The words we speak to others are powerful as these speak to ourselves. As a well known proverb says , “ Life and death are in the power of tongue “. Therefore , you should be very mindful of the things you speak from mouth. Once released to the universe, words cannot be taken back . That’s why it is critical that we learn the concept of WOW ie We must watch our words. It all goes back to the mouth gate.

The tongue is the pen to your hearts. What we speak is programmed on the inside. There is a

 

proverb “ out of the issue of your hearts , your mouth speaks”. There is a heart-mouth connection what we feel and think within actually comes out in the form of our words. On this basis we believe about ourselves.

Life is challenge and there is no age bar to learn and improve. People may have different physical ailments  but what keep them going is their positive frame of mind and above all the grace of Almighty. The world has become for them a better place.

Respond with affirmation

There is a bondless light emerged within you. Positive qualities are bound to conquer all that is negative. When anyone asks, How are you ?

I can almost hear you say with a smile :

CONSTIPATION

Untimely excretory movements, no clearance for a number of days or many a times in a day, foul smells, sticky, hard or very loose excretion are some of the symptoms of constipation.

Constipation is a modern disease, caused mainly by wrong food habits – late night eating, very frequent intake of acid rich greasy, fried, roasted and spicy food devoid of fibres, mineral salts and vitamins, eating in a state of great hurry,worry and tension, gulping big morsels of food, eating while moving, working, talking ,watching TV, reading something, etc. Munching something all the time, very frequent or regular use of strong purgatives also cause constipation.

Late digestion of food causes putrefaction of food in the colon which causes indigestion,tension,stress and strain, tiredness,gas,acidity,stomach-ache,kidney-ache,appendicitis,piles,hungerlessness,headache. Migraine,colitis,obesity,insomnia and irregular periods in the case of ladies etc.

Constipation can be treated by regulating and improving food habits-one should eat quietly,calmly,slowly,happily,chewing tiny morsels of food, only when hungry, better to have meals only two times-morning and evening and have lot of salads or fresh fruit at lunch time. Each meal must contain some fibre in the form of green vegetables etc. Lot of salad should be taken before each meal. Water should be taken only after an hour or so of the meals. Better to avoid spices completely as these may cause ulcers. Pulses and other heavy food should be avoided at supper. Nothing should be taken at all after 8 pm. Must go for a stroll for 30-45 min before going to bed. For clearing bowls and feeling fresh whole day, should take first thing in the morning,1-2 glasses of fresh water  (lukewarm in winter) with two spoonfuls of honey and one lemon’s juice.

Some physical for an hour or so every day morning –walking,jogging- onregular basis tone up the whole body for the next 23 hours. Must laugh everyday melodiously for 30-60 seconds to keep smiling whole day longs.

Early to bed,early to rise , makes a person healthy,wealthy and wise.

Late to bed,late to rise, makes a person always take doctor’s advice.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stress is the main factor of diabetes. Here is the remedy .

Let’s find out by asking ourselves, what are we here for ?

We will find the answer in our hearts like this-

We are not here to fear

We are not here to be angry

We are not here to be jealous

We are not here to blame

We are not here to be miserable

We are not here to worry

Most of the times we are in the states of fear, anger & stress (FAS) without taking into consideration that it is causing tremendous damage to us in our physical & mental states , causing number of diseases by bringing detrimental  damage to the hormonal systems. It is reducing our performance level in the worldly affairs & highly demotivating in achieving mental peace.

Scientifically , stress & pressure are not the same. They are related to each other by the equation – STRESS= PRESSURE ESILINCE.

Suppose, in a corporate sector , you are working on a project which is having a deadline. One can understand that pressure is there but it is absolutelyunnecessary to meet the deadline & coup the pressure with stress. What is important is to see what kinds of thoughts are generated to meet the deadline. Suppose, you have to finish the work by one or two days and you are ill-equipped in terms of necessary resources (ie crunch of resources) then is it mandatory to meet  your deadline under FAS ? Definitely, your answer  will be” NO “. Stress is directly related to unnecessary and wasteful thoughts and inversely proportional to concentration and right decision taking power.

It simply means that if stress increases then it decreases our concentration level and power to take the right decision.

Every small-small situations may bring us in the states of fear, anxiety and worries and then we expect our stress to go away. How is it possible ?

Sometimes we approach other routes to burst our stress by watching movies, going for shopping/picnics or wandering here & there unnecessarily. This approach is fatal as we fail to understand that stress is because of negative thoughts or wrong belief systems. It is not at all of body (though it is affecting the body). So wherever I go, thoughts are with me and stress would also remain with me.

To remove the ailments of mind ie thoughts relating to fear, anxiety and worries, we need to add yog in our schedule. Practise light asanas including Shavasana, deep and long breathing and find that mind is free from negative thinking and then we begin to lead a life without stress.STRESS
